Why a Body Scan?

Body scans are a powerful way of tuning in to the body and beginning the process of sensing and feeling what is. The body stores our memories, emotions - all of lifes experiences are within the body. The nervous system is in the body. The breath is in the body. The present moment is in the body. 

In a body scan your awareness is moved through each part of the body and you are simply asked to "feel what is". You do not have to change anything about the experience - simply be "awake" to it.

As you focus on your body your mind gets out of the way. Body scans relax the mind,  keeping worry and rumination at bay.
